as judge

Dan Pater

This is the first window on your right as you come in the back of church.

Where to find this window.

What to look for:
Christ looking down at a heart, the Holy Spirit and the waters of Baptism, Hand of God, Christ with the words, "He hath given Him to do judgment", Crucifix, a little man praying for salvation, IDOL WORSHIP - a golden calf and a man adoring it, next to the keys Cain slaying his brother, Abel, and the word HATE, Heads of the twelve apostles around the Resurrected Christ, Key in the middle, Christ again at the bottom, GREED - a man with a money bag,  FAITH - crucifix, HOPE - resurrection, LOVE - God the Son.
.
Meaning:   The hand of God judges all. The garment of Christ is severed into two halves, by the wary line beginning at the shoulder and continuing to the bottom of the window.
On judgment day the good will be separated from the bad. Within the area to the right are faith hope and love. Within those to the left are Idol Worship, by the adoration of the Golden Calf and Despair and Hate.
Faith is represented by Christ on the Cross, Hope by the Ascension in which the disciples are shown merely as heads surrounding the figure of Christ.
Cain, slaying Able was chosen for HATE, and Cain said to the Lord, :My inquiry is greater than that I may deserve pardon."  "Behold. Thou dost cast me out this day from Thy Face and I shall be a vagabond and fugitive on the earth."
At the very top, The Heart of Christ, pierced for love of us, and the Holy Spirit coming to us through the waters of Baptism giving us the Theological Virtues of Faith, Hope and Love which makes it possible for all of us to be saved.
